Premastering is the process of preparing your finished mixes for CD
duplication. Often miss quoted as 'Mastering' which is the process of
creating a glass master from which to mass produce your CD.
During Pre-mastering equalization and compression are applied when
required to give your recordings a consistency
of sound and any unwanted noises (including
clicks, crackles, hum, distortion etc) are removed.
The relative level between tracks is then checked
before creating a master with all the relative
sub code information for duplication.
